Dunkirk police late Friday arrested a Rochester man as a crack cocaine distributor.
Jermaine B. Hill, 22, was charged with felony third-degree criminal possession and sale of a controlled substance. He was arrested at an East Second Street address.
Police said Hill was transporting several thousand dollars worth of crack cocaine weekly from Rochester and distributing it on the streets of Dunkirk.
Hill also was charged at Police Headquarters with third- and fourth-degree criminal possession. City police were assisted by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and Moose of the city's K-9 unit.
New HEAP applications set
New applications will be taken for the federal Heat Energy Assistance Program from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 9 in Newstead Town Hall, County Legislator Michael H. Ranzenhofer, R-Amherst, announced.
HEAP is available to those whose monthly incomes fall below $1,006 for one person; $1,356 for a family of two; $1,706 for three; $2,056 for four; $2,406 for five; and $2,756 for six.
