CHARTER PANEL TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARINGS FEB. 1-3

The Buffalo Charter Revision Commission will hold public hearings Feb. 1-3 on proposals to improve budget-making, purchasing and other financial roles for the city.

Hearing topics are expected to include changing the Salary Review Commission, consolidating city purchasing and improving the capital budget process, the commission announced.

Commissioners are scheduled to recommend changes to the City Charter by midsummer so that the revisions can be placed on the November ballot.

Hearings will begin at 6 p.m. at the following locations: Feb. 1, Common Council chambers in City Hall (free parking in Turner Ramp); Feb. 2, Olmsted School 56, 716 W. Delavan Ave.; and Feb. 3, Southside Elementary School auditorium, 430 Southside Parkway.
