A Prenatal Care Assistance Program is being offered to expectant mothers by University Primary Care and Olean General Hospital.
The program provides financial assistance for medical checkups and hospital care, counseling and instruction on nutrition, labor, delivery and baby care, and prepared childbirth classes. Eligibility is determined by income and family size and is not related to Medicaid.
The goal of the program, offered through the state Department of Health, is a healthy newborn through encouragement of early prenatal medical care and payment for all medical costs associated with pregnancy.
