Jeanne Sibley Dale, 74, who formerly worked for the Town of Clarence, died Thursday (Jan. 21, 1999) in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, after a short illness.
A longtime Clarence resident, Mrs. Dale worked as part-time mail clerk for the town under an Erie County-funded program for senior citizens. In that position, Mrs. Dale distributed mail to the various departments and offices of the town and sometimes served as lunch-time receptionist. Failing vision forced her to retire in 1997.
Mrs. Dale was a receptionist at the Clarence Senior Center.
Earlier, she was a real estate agent for Howard Potter Realty.
Mrs. Dale was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, the church's Altar Guild and the Order of the Daughters of the King.
She was a past president of the women's board at Brookfield Country Club, Clarence.
A native of Lynn, Mass., she attended Marble Head High School. She had lived in Western New York about 40 years.
Mrs. Dale's husband, Ralph O. Dale Jr., died in 1974.
She is survived by two sons, Jonathan O. of Charlotte, N.C., and Steven M. of Clarence; a sister, Natalie S. Bruce of Boca Raton, Fla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Eucharist of Thanksgiving will be offered at 3 p.m. Sunday in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 4275 S. Harris Hill Road, Clarence. Burial will be in columbarium in St. Paul's Church.
