AMERKS' WIN STREAK ENDS AT FIVE GAMES

Brad Chartrand's goal with just 1:23 remaining lifted the St. John's Maple Leafs to a 3-2 victory over the Rochester Americans Friday in the American Hockey League.

Chartrand took Kevyn Adams' pass in the neutral zone, sped in on the left wing and drove a slap shot from the left circle past goalie Martin Biron.

The loss snapped Rochester's five-game winning streak. Domenic Pittis and Randy Cunneyworth scored for the Amerks.
