A Moselle Street man who allegedly struck another man in the head with a loaded handgun was apprehended by Genesee Station police early today, authorities said.

Laquin Goodman, 20, was charged with assaulting Alphonse Amos in the 300 block of Moselle at about 4:10 a.m. Goodman also was charged with criminal possession of a firearm and menacing.

At Police Headquarters, cellblock attendant Mike Groves found nine packages of crack cocaine hidden in Goodman's underwear, according to Officers Ralph Skinner and Edward Garris, who charged him with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
