Georgia M. Payne, 80, formerly of Wrobel Towers, died Monday (Jan. 18, 1999) in Schoellkopf Nursing Home.
A native of Greenville, Ala., the former Georgia M. Peterson moved to Niagara Falls in 1952.
Mrs. Payne was a teacher's aide at the old Beech Avenue School from 1970 to 1975 and was a cook at the City Mission from 1976 until 1985, when she retired.
Mrs. Payne was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she was a former president of the Mission Board and served as a Sunday school teacher and church mother. She enjoyed cooking and baking.
She was the widow of Robert T. Payne.
Survivors include three daughters, Juanita Bryant of Amherst, Roberta Harvel of Inglewood, Calif., and Andrea Payne-Washington of Columbus, Ga.; two sons, Roman of Los Angeles and Robert; three sisters, Effie Hollie of Buffalo, Ann Killian of Detroit and Gertrude of Greenville; and a brother, John L. Peterson of Detroit.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Trinity Baptist Church, South Avenue at 15th Street. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
