Memorial services for Earl H. Ahlas, 59, of Houston, a former Niagara Falls resident, were held Jan. 4 in Houston.
Ahlas died Jan. 2, 1999, in Memorial City Hospital, Houston, after a long illness.
Born in Niagara Falls, he was a 1957 graduate of LaSalle High School. He worked as a manager in the transportation department at the former Hooker Chemical Corp. and was transferred to Houston in the late 1970s.
In Houston, he owned and operated a trucking company and other businesses.
He was a member of the Niagara Falls and Buffalo Traffic Club.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, the former Nancy Disotell; a daughter, Alecia Hoffman-Grayson of Houston; a son, Greg of Austin, Texas; and two granddaughters.
