Stone Temple Pilots lead singer Scott Weiland has been released from jail five days after his arrest on a possible probation violation.

Weiland, placed on three years probation last summer after pleading guilty to felony heroin possession, was arrested Friday after a drug rehabilitation program director told a judge Weiland hadn't been following the rules. The nature of the violation wasn't disclosed.
