Antonette "Antonina" Lech, 81, formerly of Monroe Avenue, died Monday (Jan. 18, 1999) in Fairchild Manor Nursing Home, Lewiston.
A native of Poland, the former Antonette Gora moved to Niagara Falls in 1947, when her husband returned here after World War II service in the Army. Mrs. Lech became a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1957.
She did maintenance work for Ace Industrial Services at the Royal Avenue plant of Union Carbide Corp. for 27 years until she retired in 1982.
Mrs. Lech was a member of the Polish National Alliance and St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church and a former member of St. Stan's Mothers Club.
She enjoyed sewing, creating elaborate rose gardens and cooking, especially baking coffee cakes and bow ties.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley; a daughter, Antoinette "Toni" of North Tonawanda; a sister, Josephine Sapa of Poland; and a brother, Ted Gora of Poland.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered today in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church after prayers in Zajac Funeral Home. Entombment was in the Mausoleum of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston.
