Not since Jamie Farr entertained audiences in "M*A*S*H" has Toledo celebrated this kind of homegrown celebrity.
Katie Holmes, a young actress on the WB television series "Dawson's Creek," returned home Saturday to serve as grand marshal of a holiday parade and was greeted by swarms of screaming teen-agers.
"Wow. We got to see the back of her head," one teen deadpanned as Holmes, 19, waswhisked away after the parade.
Holmes said she misses her family and would like to be home more often.
"It's hard to be away so much," she said.
