A 25-year-old man from New York State died Monday afternoon, hours after the car he was driving hit a tree along Niagara Parkway, Niagara Parks Police reported.
The accident occurred shortly before 11:30 a.m. on the parkway, at Murray Street. Police said the car was traveling south on the parkway when the driver lost control of it and hit a tree.
The driver, identified only as John A. Mullady, suffered serious head and chest injuries, police said. He was taken to Greater Niagara General Hospital, where he died at about 5 p.m.
A passenger, identified only as Jenna Leonti, 25, also of New York State, suffered minor injuries and was taken to the same hospital.
