The Town Board approved the first easements Monday for the construction of sewers in Sanborn.
More easements will be required later to provide sewers along Saunders Settlement Road and Townline Road in the Sanborn area.
The sewer construction project is subject to a public hearing, which has yet to be scheduled.
Construction is planned for August or September of 1999, but Town Engineer Robert A. Gallucci still needs to come up with a cost estimate for the project.
Councilman D. James Langlois was absent from the meeting, held in the small meeting room of the Town Hall.
In other matters, the board voted to:
Hire John Sharpe as a clerk to the town engineer for $9.50 an hour for 12 hours per week. He was formerly titled the assistant engineer and was paid on a consultant basis.
Appoint Timothy R. Lockhart as chief Waste Water Treatment Plant operator, an upgrade of his title per Civil Service codes. Lockhart formerly served as chief administrator at the plant. The change in title does not mean an increase in pay.
Meet behind closed doors to discuss the six applications received to fill the seat of Town Justice Peter L. Broderick, who was elected county judge in November. Supervisor Richard M. Demus said the board will probably make a decision to fill the seat at the next Town Board meeting, which will be held 7 p.m. Dec. 10 in the Town Hall.
