IMMACULATA STUDENTS COLLECT 2.2 TONS OF FOOD

Immaculata Academy students have gathered 2,210 pounds of food in a month-long food drive that far exceeded expectations, the girl's Catholic high school said.

The effort was part of Immaculata's "Respect Life" club's annual food drive.

Club moderator Carol Healy believed the drive might reach 1,500 pounds of food. The 2,210-pound total was bolstered by 500 pounds of potatoes and 100 pounds of flour.
