ICY ROADS RESULT IN TWO CRASHES

Icy conditions caused two drivers to lose control of their vehicles Saturday, Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Department said.

A car driven by Peggysue Purcell, 35, of Creamridge Road, Rushford, overturned about 9:40 a.m. on Route 98 South in Franklinville after it went off the north side of the road, crossing over a guardrail.

Ms. Purcell suffered head and neck pain in the accident. Two passengers were unharmed.

In a crash at 8 a.m. Saturday, a car driven by Timothy A. Bellavia, 19, of Johnson City spun into guardrails at the Allegheny Reservoir Bridge on the Southern Tier Expressway in Coldspring. No one was injured, authorities said.
