HOTEL FIRE BLAMED ON ARSON

Investigators say arson triggered the fire early Saturday that caused an estimated $60,000 in damage to the Main Street Hotel.

Little Valley Fire Chief Kirk Snyder said firefighters were alerted to the fire about 3 a.m. The blaze, he said, was set on the outside of the building and flames eventually reached the second-floor before burning through the roof.

The hotel, owned by Barbara Green, was open for business Sunday. There were no injuries but several apartment tenants had to be relocated.

The Cattaraugus County Fire Investigation Team ruled the fire an arson. The county' Arson Task Force is offering a reward of as much as $2,500 for the arrest and conviction of the arsonist.
