Child and Family Services recently announced its merger with Theatre for Change. The program, now known as Child and Family Services Theatre for Change, consists of professional actors, writers and directors who will develop and perform plays, improvisations and workshops dealing with topics such as family violence, diversity, substance abuse, discrimination and aging. The group also has named Darleen Pickering Hummert, known locally for her work with the Irish Classical Theatre Company, as program director.

Artpark is seeking a person to direct and manage a summer program in all art disciplines, as well as to run related day camps for children and teens. The selected person will be responsible for all aspects of the program, including fiscal management, contacting and contracting with artists, public relations, marketing, audience development and community relations. Auditions

Theatre of Youth is seeking professional child actors for two upcoming productions. Two boys who look between ages 9 and 12 are needed for an April/May production of "Bunnicula." Also, one girl under 5 feet who looks between ages 9 and 12 is needed to portray Helen Keller in TOY's February/March production of "The Miracle Worker." Stage Struck Productions will audition for its annual Easter production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in the Harlem Road Community Center, 4255 Harlem Road, Amherst. The Darien Lake Labatt International Festival, one of Western New York's largest ethnic events, will be held Sept. 3 to 6, 1999. The Association of Performing Arts Presenters will hold a conference titled "Connections: The 42nd Annual Members Conference," Jan. 9 to 12 in New York City. Journalists must be pre-registered to attend. Brian Segal, chairman of the board of directors of the Shaw Festival Theatre Foundation, was recently presented the Lieutenant Governor's Award for the Arts in recognition of the Shaw's efforts in acquiring private-sector and community support. The $25,000 award is administered by the Ontario Arts Council Foundation.
