The Erie County Home is inviting groups, including scouts, choirs and youth groups, to join in caroling on the afternoon of Dec. 12. The home is also requesting gift items to assure that all of the 638 residents are remembered. Many have no family members and the only gift they receive will come from a donor. Call 937-5640.

It is possible to "adopt" residents at DePaul's Kenwell and Bridgewell facilities for the holidays. Bridgewell residents are older adults, 90 percent of whom are mentally ill. Gift requests include personal care items, clothing, slippers, perfume, hats, gloves, suspenders and belts. The Buffalo Federation of Neighborhood Centers, 97 Lemon St., needs presents for 100 children from ages 5 to 14 for Christmas and Kwanzaa by Dec. 10. Call Jacob Coleman at 856-0363.
