The Cherry Street parking ramp will be closed Sunday and Monday for repairs.
The top level of the ramp has been closed in recent weeks because of deteriorating concrete. Jamestown Public Works Director Jeffrey Lehman said Wednesday that the decision to make the repairs was made based on a favorable weather forecast.
"We plan to scrape off the loose concrete and then apply a sealer to get it through the winter, so the water can't penetrate into the concrete. That should stabilize it until we can do the repair work next summer," he said.
The ramp was rebuilt within the last few years, and the City Council earlier this month voted to hire a Buffalo law firm to start legal action against the construction company, MPS Corp. of Bridgeville, Pa.
