HOSPITAL DEALS WITH Y2K FLAW

An inventory of all hardware, software and medical devices containing embedded computer chips has been completed by Olean General Hospital's Year 2000 Compliance Committee, a group formed in January to address the Y2K programming flaw.

Those items are now being tested.

All the hospital's computer-driven equipment has been scheduled for further investigation and testing, beginning with monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and items having the most direct impact on patient care.
