CAR BOMB ROCKS MEDELLIN AIRPORT, INJURING AT LEAST 9

A powerful car bomb rocked the northwest industrial hub of Medellin Wednesday, hospitalizing at least nine people in the city known as the cradle of Colombia's notoriously violent drug trade.

Police said the bomb, which went off in the cargo area of Medellin's Olaya Herrera airport, was comprised of about 155 pounds of dynamite and had been planted in a stolen car.

It was apparently directed against the office of a local courier service.
