Expectant mothers may receive prenatal care assistance from University Primary Care physicians in Olean, Cuba and Houghton.

According to Cheri Giardini, Olean General Hospital's PCAP Coordinator, the goal of the state-administered Prenatal Care Assistance Program is to encourage pregnant women to seek early care through payment of all medical costs and to promote healthy babies at birth.

Eligibility is determined by family income and size, and some recipients qualify despite being turned away by Medicaid. For information, call Ms. Giardini at 375-6984.
