Residents of the Royalton-Hartland School District residents will vote from noon to 9 p.m. Dec. 3 on a $6,450,000 bond issue repairs, asbestos removal and upgrades to meet the the Americans With Disabilities Act.
The vote on the 10-year bond issue will be held in Gasport Elementary School auditorium. District officials say the time is right for the project because of an advantageous state Education Department aid rate for school building projects.
The project would hike property taxes an estimated 12 cents per $1,000 of assessed valuation for the towns of Royalton, Alabama, Ridgeway and Shelby, and 14 cents for the Town of Hartland.
A public forum on the project will be held at 7 p.m. Monday in the junior-senior high school auditorium, State Street, Middleport.
