Yvette B. Woods, one of the founders of O'Connor Family Greenhouses in Ransomville and a retired school dietary aide, died Saturday (Nov. 21, 1998) in Newfane Inter-Community Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was 83.
The former Yvette Brunell, who lived on McChesney Street, was born in Manchester, N.H.
She owned and operated a hair salon in Burlington, Vt., before moving to Wilson and then worked as a dietary aide for Wilson Central Schools until her retirement in 1968.
Mrs. Woods worked at O'Connor Family Greenhouses in Ransomville until 1997.
She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church and Wilson Golden Agers.
Mrs. Woods enjoyed caring for animals, especially cats.
Her husband, Sherman, died in 1981.
Survivors include a son, David of Averill Park; three daughters, Wendy O'Connor of Ransomville, Lorayne Woodard and Diane Ziemendorf; a brother, Arthur Brunell of Augusta, Maine; a sister, Jean Petit of Miami; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 359 Lake St. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria.[nfschr]
