A statement attributed to Buffalo Police Commissioner Rocco J. Diina in Sunday's Buffalo News was incomplete.
Responding to a statement from Lt. Robert P. Meegan Jr., president of the Buffalo Police Benevolent Association, that residents in the South District have been affected by personnel shortages and response times, Diina noted that the South District has sufficient officers.
"And we make periodic changes in deployment based upon empirical data, crime patterns, volume of calls for service, and responding to the community's needs," Diina said.
