Bonnita R. "Bonnie" Mundy, 54, a psychiatric social worker, died Friday (Nov. 20, 1998) in her home here after a long battle with cancer.
Born Bonnita McIntyre in Niagara Falls, Ont., she was a graduate of Lafayette High School and the University at Buffalo, where she earned a master's degree in social work.
Since 1989, Mrs. Mundy was employed as a psychiatric social worker by the Central New York Region of the Office of Mental Health at Attica Correctional Facility. She also had been employed as a psychiatric social worker at West Seneca Developmental Center and People, Inc.
Mrs. Mundy enjoyed gardening and crafts, and she collected birdhouses and antiques. She was a member of the National Home Gardeners Club, the National Audubon Society, the National Association of Social Workers and Cornell Cooperative Extension.
Surviving are her husband, Frank N.; a son, Mark Clift of Buffalo; a daughter, Kymberly LaPiana of Lancaster; her mother, Hilda Toner of Cheektowaga; and a brother, William McIntyre of Cheektowaga.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered today in St. Gabriel's Catholic Church. Prayers were said in Urban-Amigone Funeral Home. Burial was in Lancaster Rural Cemetery.[ktrein]
