VIRGINIA MILLARD, TEACHER AND ACTIVE VOLUNTEER

Memorial services for Virginia Millard, a teacher and volunteer, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Kenmore United Methodist Church, 32 Landers Road, Kenmore.

Mrs. Millard, of Williamsville, died Oct. 30, 1998, in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst, after a lengthy illness. She was 87.

Born in Coudersport, Pa., the former Virginia Beebe grew up in Austin, Pa., and earned a bachelor's degree in education from Pennsylvania State University. She taught for 10 years in Bradford, Pa., before moving to Western New York in 1941.

Beginning in the 1970s, she worked as a teacher for 15 years at Northmore Nursery School in Kenmore.

Mrs. Millard was a member of Kenmore United Methodist Church and its Keystone Sunday school classes. She also was a member of the United Methodist Women and worked 20 years in the church's infant-care department.

She was a volunteer for many children's activities, including Girl Scouts and the church's Youth Fellowship.

She also was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

Her husband of 54 years, Charles A., died in 1995.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol DiLallo of Clifton Park and Janet Silloway of Apex, N.C., and three grandchildren.
