Bonnita R. "Bonnie" Mundy, 54, died Friday (Nov. 20, 1998) in her Bennington home after a long battle with cancer.
Born Bonnita McIntyre in Niagara Falls, Ont., she was a 1962 graduate of Lafayette High School and 1988 graduate of the University at Buffalo, where she earned a master's degree in social work.
Since 1989, Mrs. Mundy was employed as a psychiatric social worker by the Central New York Region of the Office of Mental Health at Attica Correctional Facility. She also had been employed as a psychiatric social worker at West Seneca Developmental Center and People, Inc.
She enjoyed gardening and crafts, and collected birdhouses and antiques.
She was a member of the National Home Gardeners Club, National Audubon Society, National Association of Social Workers and Cornell Cooperative Extension.
Survivors include her husband of 7 1/2 years, Frank N.; a son, Mark Clift of Buffalo; a daughter, Kymberly LaPiana of Lancaster; her mother, Hilda Toner of Cheektowaga; and a brother, William McIntyre of Cheektowaga.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Monday in St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, 5721 Clinton St., Elma, after prayers at 8:30 in Urban-Amigone Funeral Home, 7540 Clinton St., Elma. Burial will be in Lancaster Rural Cemetery.
