I hope the taxpayers realize that in denying the fact finder's recommendation for a pay raise for Erie County nurses, County Executive Gorski is only trying to make himself look good before the next election.
I am a taxpayer also. But since blue-collar workers and management got a 3 to 4 percent, I feel the nurses also deserve a raise. I also find it astonishing that he is concerned about the fact that we get a paid lunch, since all county employees do. Many times we do not even take lunch.
Instead of Gorski or the legislators deciding, why not ask our patients or their families if they think we deserve a raise. It seems there is money for everything lately, except raises for the nurses.
