ROBERT PARKER CUMMINS, RETIRED POLICE OFFICER

Robert Parker Cummins, 68, of Jacksonville, N.C., a retired Town of Evans police officer, died Tuesday (Nov. 17, 1998) in Onslow Memorial Hospital, Jacksonville.

Born in Boonville, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He retired from the Evans police in 1985 and moved to North Carolina.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth; four sons, Ronald and Larry, both of Derby, Gerald of Holland and Robert of Cheektowaga; a daughter, Kathy Sheaffer of Derby; his mother, Jennie Moore of Batavia; three brothers, Donald of Kirkville, Hank of Attica and Bruce of Belleville, Ill.; a stepson, Keith Jensen of Jacksonville; two stepdaughters, Elizabeth Herrmann of Culpeper, Va., and Cheryl Jensen of Richlands, N.C.; and 15 grandchildren.

Services were held today in Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Burial was in Onslow Memorial Park, Jacksonville.
