N.Y. CITY MAN ARRESTED IN FEBRUARY FALLS SLASHING

Acting on a tip, detectives arrested Aspha M. Rookwood, 19, of New York City Thursday for breaking into a Willow Avenue home on Feb. 11 and cutting a sleeping Buffalo State College student nine times with a knife, Detective Frank Coney said.

Rookwood was charged with second-degree assault and first-degree burglary after he was located at a Weston Avenue address by police.

Coney said he also learned the suspect is wanted by New York City detectives for at least two armed robberies.

Rookwood is accused of climbing through a second-story porch window at 814 Willow Ave. and attacking Dion Foendoe, 19, a Buffalo State College student from White Plains, with a knife early that morning.
