Marxism and bioethics are the topics of two upcoming lectures at the Center for Inquiry -- International, 1310 Sweet Home Road, Amherst.
"Is Marx Still Relevant?" is the title of the talk to be given at 8 p.m. Dec. 4 by Jim Lawler, associate professor of philosophy at the University at Buffalo and a renowned scholar on the works of Marx. He has just returned from a major conference on Marx in Paris.
"What Feminism Can Do for Bioethics" will be the topic at 4 p.m. Dec. 7 for a lecture by Laura M. Purdy, bioethicist and professor of philosophy at the University of Toronto Joint Centre for Bioethics and the Toronto Hospital.
