AIR WING TO HELP FUNNEL HURRICANE RELIEF SUPPLIES

Members of the 914th Airlift Wing of the Air Force Reserve based here are participating in an airlift of humanitarian relief supplies to victims of Hurricane Mitch in Central America.

Six C-130 Hercules aircraft and more than 250 members of the local Reserve Wing have been mobilized for the airlift. They left Niagara Falls Thursday for a staging area at Gulfport, Miss., where they will be loaded with relief supplies before flying on to the countries devastated by the hurricane.

Most of the missions will funnel through landing strips in Nicaragua and Honduras, according to Neil Nolf, public affairs officer for the 914th. The Reservists will return to Niagara Falls Sunday afternoon, after finishing their missions.
