SWEET HOME APPOINTS ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

Michael Baumann, a guidance counselor at West Seneca West High School, will start as assistant principal at Sweet Home High School in early November.

The School Board unanimously approved Baumann for the position in a special meeting Tuesday morning. He replaces Anthony Day, who served as assistant principal for two years before leaving Sept. 1 to become principal of a middle school in the Niagara Wheatfield district.

Baumann's pro-rated salary for the 1998-99 year will be $46,251. The district's administrative year runs from July 1 through June 30. Day had earned about $73,000 annually, according to Superintendent Gary R. Cooper.
