A Memorial Mass for Marilynn Passke Wynne, 58, a member of many civic and religious organizations and an avid golfer, will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, South Buffalo Street and Thorn Avenue, Orchard Park.
Mrs. Wynne, who was born in Buffalo, died Monday (Sept. 28, 1998) at her Orchard Park home after a long illness.
She graduated from the University of Buffalo School of Music and had attended the University of Michigan School of Pharmacy before transferring to UB. She worked for a time as a research technician at Stanford University Medical School and the UB Medical School.
Mrs. Wynne sang with the Orchard Park Chorale group in the early 1980s and was a member of the Buffalo Chorale Art Society from 1988 to 1998 and the Nativity of Our Lord Church choir.
She belonged to the Nativity of Our Lord Home School Association and the Hickory Hill Tennis Club in Orchard Park. She was a voluntary reading teacher at Orchard Park Elementary School and belonged to the Bay Beach Community Association in Bay Beach, Ont., where her family maintained a summer home.
She was an avid golfer and won the East Aurora Country Club Women's Invitational Golf Tournament in 1988. She belonged to the Women's Golf League at South Shore Country Club in Hamburg.
Mrs. Wynne enjoyed sailing and was a member of the Buffalo Canoe Club in Bay Beach. She also enjoyed playing tennis.
Survivors include her husband, John F.; a daughter, Lynda A. Hiller; a son, Thomas M.; and a sister, Barbara Markoe.
