AURORA SPENDING PLAN HAS SLIGHT TAX DECREASE

Aurora Supervisor William J. Green has presented a tentative 1999 budget which shows a minimal decrease of 0.5 percent in the general fund budget, no increase in the budget that serves the town outside the Village of East Aurora, and no increase in the highway budget.

A public hearing on the tentative spending plan is scheduled for Oct. 26.

Green also announced that the federal Rural Development Agency has awarded the town an $80,000, low-interest loan in addition to a $40,000 grant for extensions to Water District 16-1.

Green announced a 3 percent increase in water rates has been passed along to the town by the Erie County Water Authority, something town residents living outside the village will pay next year.
