Here's a favorite and easy recipe that most everyone likes.
1 large onion, chopped
1 pound ground beef
Shortening, if necessary
1 can (8-ounce) tomato sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper
6 to 8 hamburger buns
Cook beef and onion until beef is browned, stirring frequently; do not add shortening unless necessary. Add tomato sauce, ketchup and seasonings. Simmer about 10 minutes to blend flavors. Serve between toasted split buns. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
