The Skating Association for the Blind and Handicapped will offer ice-skating lessons at five area rinks, beginning this weekend.

SABAH is beginning its 22nd year of teaching the physically, mentally and emotionally handicapped how to skate. The weekly lessons will be held at the following times and places:

Hamburg Town Rink, 2982 Lakeview Road, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays, beginning Saturday.

Amherst Pepsi Center, formerly the Aububon Rink, 1615 Amherst Manor Drive, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sundays, starting Sunday.

Hockey Outlet, formerly Sabreland, 3385 Niagara Falls Blvd., Wheatfield, from 4:15 to 6:15 p.m. Sundays, starting Sunday.

North Buffalo Community Rink, 156 Tacoma Ave., 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning Oct. 6.

Niagara University Rink, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays, beginning Oct. 7.

The price of the lessons is $60 per family, but financial aid is available. Class size is limited to 75 skaters per rink. All ages are eligible.

All skaters will participate in the annual SABAH ice show, scheduled March 19-20 in Marine Midland Arena.
