ROBBER FIRES SHOTS AT BORDER PATROL AGENTS

LEWISTON -- Police and bloodhounds searched for a man who fired shots at Border Patrol agents after robbing the Ammex duty-free store on the U.S. side of the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge at 10:15 p.m. Sunday. The man displayed what might have been a 9-millimeter handgun, police said. The suspect fired at the Border Patrol before jumping a fence and running toward Mount St. Mary's Hospital. No one was hurt. The robber fled with a large amount of money in a pillowcase.
