A gunman took $4,000 from the Odds 'n' Ends store at 2101 Elmwood Ave. over the weekend and fired two shots before being arrested, according to police.
Northwest District officers said the 18-year-old gunman took a money bag from the store at 9:50 p.m. Saturday and, while fleeing, fired two shots at a store employee who was chasing him.
Antonio T. Barber of 1848 Kenmore Ave. was stopped by two off-duty police officers, James Hacker and Scott Malec, who held him until officers arrived. Police said they recovered the money and gun.
Barber was charged with first-degree robbery, possession of stolen property, possession and criminal use of a firearm, reckless endangerment and obstruction of governmental administration.
