Raymond J. Lane of Newman Road, who operated a farm in Ransomville for many years, died Friday (Sept. 25, 1998) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a long illness. He was 82.
Long was born in Youngstown and had lived in Ransomville for most of his life.
He sold farm produce in Buffalo for many years. He worked as a millwright rigger for the Carborundum Co. in Niagara Falls for 38 years, retiring in 1978.
Lane, an avid hunter and fisherman, was a member of the Wilson Conservation Club, Rod and Gun Club and Carborundum Retirees. He also enjoyed baseball.
Survivors include his wife, the former Dorothy Schultz; a son, Gary of Phoenix; two daughters, Marilyn Lane of Lockport and Elizabeth Maacks; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Hardison Funeral Homes, 3648 Ransomville Road. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery, Cambria.
