A $25,000 endowment named for a Western New York soccer star was dedicated Saturday at Nazareth College.

The Angela Coniglio Women's Soccer Fund will support the program in which Ms. Coniglio excelled before her graduation 10 years ago. She died at age 30 in 1996.

Ms. Coniglio held the record for career assists at Nazareth, where she played softball as well as soccer. Shew grew up in Amherst and became a multiple-sport star at Amherst Central High School, accumulating a record number of total points in soccer, field hockey, softball and junior varsity basketball. She was named to the school's athletic Hall of Fame in 1997.

"Angela loved Nazareth and its soccer team," said her father, Angelo F. Coniglio of Amherst, who with his wife, Angela Y., and son, Angelo R. of Clarence, presented the gift.

"This endowment will provide a fund to continually improve the program." A plaque bearing Ms. Coniglio's name was placed in the college's Otto Shults Community Center.
