Shea's Performing Arts Center is seeking local actors 21 and over to supplement its New York City cast of "Tony 'n Tina's Wedding," opening Nov. 3 in Buffalo for an extended run. Auditions will be from 4 to 10 p.m. Oct. 6 and 7 in the former Cheers restaurant on Pearl Street. Appointments are required, and may be made by calling 847-8002 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. this Wednesday through Friday only (no messages accepted). Auditions will consist of an interview and improvisation. All roles are available; however, the director will choose which role an auditioner is best suited for. Callbacks will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Oct. 8.

The Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre will audition children for roles in its holiday production of "The Nutcracker" on Oct. 6 in Kleinhans Music Hall. At least one year of dance training is required, and children must be available for all rehearsals and performances. The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and North Carolina Dance Theatre will hold auditions for "The Nutcracker" on Oct. 9 at the Hochstein School of Music in Rochester. In some cases, dance experience is not required. Call 454-2620 for information. Performances will be Nov. 27 to 29 in the Eastman Theatre at the Eastman School of Music.

Buffalo United Artists is seeking nine men for its November production of Martin Sherman's "Bent." Auditions will be held Wednesday. Call 881-2717 for an appointment.

Upstage New York will hold auditions from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in its rehearsal hall on the lower level of the University at Buffalo Center for the Arts. Interested auditioners should prepare to sing one up-tempo musical number, and to sing and move to a musical ballad. An accompanist will be provided. Male actors ages 14 to 21, plus one girl ages 8 to 10, are needed for Sacred Heart Academy's production of "Meet Me in St. Louis." Area artists

Kathy McDonnell's painting "Autumn Tapestry" was accepted into "Pastels '98," the Midwest Pastel Society's 12th annual national exhibition. The show will run Oct. 11 to Nov. 1 in the Prairie Center for the Arts, Schaumburg, Ill.

The Project R & B Revue will represent the Blues Society of Western New York at the 15th International Blues Foundation Competition, to be held Oct. 22 to 25 in Memphis, Tenn. The local blues group was the winner of a Blues Beat Magazine qualifier held Sept. 12 at Angel Cafe in Batavia.

Zeigle Scholarships at the Juilliard School of Music, Dance and Drama are available to permanent residents of Western New York. Interested young artists may call Juilliard's office of admissions at (212) 799-5000, Ext. 223, for information. Applications must be received by Dec. 1. Auditions will be scheduled afterward. Staff from the school will be available for questions on Oct. 14 at the Buffalo Academy for the Performing and Visual Arts.
