Wyoming County Community Hospital has a new outpatient center to treat people with central nervous system disorders.

The center will open Oct. 26 and will be staffed by two doctors from the University at Buffalo. It is a joint venture between UB's Department of Neurosurgery and the hospital.

Drs. Veetai Lai and James L. Budny will share the operation of the center, which officials said could expand if enough demand is found for treatment of brain and spinal cord injuries.

The Warsaw center will be the UB neurosurgery department's sixth satellite office in Western New York. Because the outpatient center will utilize existing facilities and equipment, there will be no additional cost to the hospital.
