Two city residents were arrested on drug charges Friday, as police said they continued to try and crack down on dealers.
Raymond A. Collier, 24, of West Fourth St., was being held in the city holding center Friday after being arrested on a charge of felony sale of a controlled substance with intent to sell. He had been under surveillance on Main Street.
Police attempted to arrest him, but he fled into the Quality Market on Fourth St. Police said they found him in possession of 17 packets of high grade crack cocaine.
Dunkirk police were assisted by the Southern Tier Regional Task Force. Dunkirk K-9 Moose also assisted.
After a five-month investigation, police arrested Daniel A. Waite, 17, of Lincoln Avenue, at the Dunkirk High School at 8:15 p.m. Friday. A warrant had been issued by City Court Judge Walter F. Drag.
He was charged with criminal possession and criminal sale of LSD, a controlled substance, which is a felony.
