The Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens will host its annual Bagels and Botany Breakfast Tour from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday. Guests can enjoy guided tours of the shrub garden, outdoor display beds and the indoor plant collection, to be followed with a chance to take cuttings, seeds and divisions, if you like. There is a charge for members and non-members.

Erie Community College South Campus is offering a non-credit, eight-hour course titled "Basic Horticulture" on Wednesdays from Oct. 7 to 28 from 6 to 8 p.m. There is a fee for the course. The course will focus on how plants function in order for students to understand how and why pesticides and fertilizers work. For information, call 851-1800.

Buffalo chapter, Ohara School of Ikebana, will meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Christ United Methodist Church, Saratoga at Harlem roads, Snyder. Virginia Ortman, 2nd degree master, will instruct members in elementary form style D.

The Williamsville Garden Club will meet at 11:30 a.m. Oct. 1 in Marc Anthony's, 8220 Main St., Williamsville. The groups will celebrate 50 years of federation. Former members will be attending.

The Wilson Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Wilson Town Hall. A nursery employee will discuss water gardening.
