A Rochester-area man stopped for speeding Wednesday afternoon in Wyoming County was found to be driving while intoxicated, sheriff's deputies reported.

Roger Zurat, 56, of West Webster was stopped after he allegedly was driving 71 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 77 in the Town of Java. Zurat's blood-alcohol content was found to be almost three times the legal limit of .10 percent, deputies said.

He was released in the custody of a relative pending an Oct. 5 appearance in Java Town Court.
