The Democrat, a former teacher and country music performer, is challenging incumbent Rep. Amo Houghton, R-Corning.

Rossiter's began his 300-mile run across the district from his home in Trumansburg near Ithaca. He expects to cover about 12 miles a day and finish the trek in 25 days in the Southern Tier.
