A tiny turnout of Maryvale School District voters Tuesday approved a $9.975 million bond issue to reconstruct school buildings and campus roadways.
Only 445 voters turned out, but they approved the borrowing 335-110.
The reconstruction project is expected to start next spring and take about two years.
The project includes reconstruction of building roofs, asbestos removal, replacement of heating and ventilation units, and upgrading of electrical components in all buildings, as well as general reconstruction, including painting and caulking.
Also, the main entrance roadway off Maryvale Drive and the center parking area will be rebuilt as well as parking areas at the primary school, Community Education Building and the North Hill School.
