Louis J. DalPorto, 63, former operator of a corner delicatessen in Niagara Falls, died Tuesday (Sept. 22, 1998) after he was stricken ill in his home on Plaza Drive.
A native of Niagara Falls, DalPorto was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and he held an associate's degree in accounting from Niagara University. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War and in peacetime from 1954 to 1957.
DalPorto worked at Occidental Chemical Corp. for 20 years until he retired in 1990. He also owned and operated the former DalPorto's Deli Mart at 25th Street and Pine Avenue in Niagara Falls from 1989 to 1994.
Survivors include a son, Bryan of Niagara Falls; two daughters, Robin Conti of Wilson and Carol Lucas of Lewiston; and three grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the M. J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St., Niagara Falls. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls.
